This new, all-ages experience highlights some of the most beautiful and misunderstood animals of the Southeast: our native snake population. Participants can have a hands-on encounter with our non-venomous education ambassadors while learning about the extensive conservation research done with venomous snakes on Jekyll Island, tips for encounter identification, and how you can help ensure these unique animals remain safe in our environment.

Sensory Room

Introducing a thoughtfully crafted oasis designed exclusively for guests that may be feeling overwhelmed, the Sensory Room at Summer Waves Water Park. The Sensory Room is a safe, adaptive space where individuals and families can take a break from the excitement and find a moment of tranquility.

The elements inside the room were graciously provided by Larry’s Giant Subs, now with two locations on Jekyll Island »

Access the Space

The room is located centrally in the park, across from the entrance to the Frantic Atlantic. To access the Sensory Room, visit the adjacent Lifeguard Hut and speak with the Aquatics staff. 

 

Our organization has worked with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to be designated as a Certified Autism Center (CAC). Our staff has completed training and certification in best practices when assisting autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals. By undergoing additional autism-specific training, the goal is for our team to be better equipped to provide better service and experiences to all.

Cabana rentals do not include park admission, so you will need to purchase a ticket or season pass separately. Refunds are not available for cabana rentals.

Cabana at Frantic Atlantic Wave Pool

Frantic Atlantic Cabanas

Central to the park and overlooking the Frantic Atlantic, you'll be able to lounge with a perfect view of the wave pool.
